A$AP Rocky Lands Featured in ‘Need For Speed Unbound’ Video Game

Need for Speed, the long-running car racing video game franchise, was released on Thursday the trailer for their new game, Unbound, on his Instagram page, in which the “Wild for the Night” rapper makes an appearance.

The trailer shows the 34-year-old artist getting out of his custom vehicle and sitting on his hood while his unreleased record “Sh*ttin Me,” which will feature on the game’s soundtrack, plays.

The Harlem rapper serves as the in-game leader in the “Takeover Scene,” a cooperative mode where players work together to conquer different parts of Lakeshore City while defeating other in-game opposition, according to IGN.

“I mean A$AP is sort of a fashion and music pioneer, and he’s also a bit of a rebel, and that’s kind of part of the Need for Speed vibe,” the director said. Criterion’s creative director, Kieran Crimmins, at IGN. “So it just made perfect sense to put it in the game and have a game mode that represented what it was and also give players a cool event.”

The cameo marks the A$APs first appearance in a major video game.

In 2020, A$AP surprised fans with an exclusive untitled song in the game radio and the soundtrack of Cyberpunk 2077a role-playing and action video game.

Electronic Arts‘ Need for Speed Unbound is set to release on December 2 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
