Art of Rally console launch includes new race course in Kenya
Rally art, the gorgeous, relaxing and, most importantly, fun racing game that launched on PC last fall, will join the Xbox Game Pass library on August 12 and launch on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on the same day.
That’s not all; Developer Funselektor has planned a new content update for the game on the same day, taking racers to Kenya, the game’s sixth location (joining Finland, Norway, Japan, Germany and the Italian island of Sardinia). This update will be deployed free of charge for those who already have Rally art on PC, and be included in new console versions when they launch on August 12.
Funselektor said in May that it expects a PlayStation 4 / PlayStation 5 release this summer as well, but it does not yet have a launch date to share.
Kenya update adds four new cars, two new songs, six more stages with location references Mount Kenya and Lake Victoria, a roaming map set in the Kenyan environment, and even local wildlife. Zebras, giraffes and elephants will highlight the widely open savannah.
Rally art launched on September 23, 2020 on Windows PC and MacOs via Steam. This is a semi-top down (mostly isometric, although the camera can be tweaked) approach to rally / road racing, and Funselektor created a tribute to the big FIA competition groups of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. , including the gloriously reckless group B from 1982 to 1987. Rally artThe cars are all fictitious, but these are very well paid tributes to the recognizable chassis of their time. (My favorite is the German-designed Das Whip.)
