Brighton kid spent £500 on video game after memorizing mum’s passwords
A CHILD spent £500 on a video game in a single weekend after memorizing his mum’s PayPal password.
Amanda Conway and her husband Paul Conway, from Brighton, enjoyed a family trip to the Isle of Wight festival.
While her parents watched the musical performances, Elizabeth played Bloxburg, a house-building game in the Roblox mobile phone game.
Amanda, a mother-of-two, then checked her American Express account and found she had £500 in charges.
Nine-year-old Elizabeth confessed she had memorized her mum’s PayPal password after seeing her shopping online.

The schoolgirl said she bought Roblox extras without realizing how much money she was spending.
Amanda, a finance manager, said: “When we realized what she had done, we were furious.
“She must have seen me enter my password a few times and then used all sorts of Roblox extras at our expense.
“Paul gave her a monumental rebuke that I don’t think she expected.”
Amanda said her husband was usually “the coldest”, so for Elizabeth to see him angry was a shock.
She added: “We had a lot of tears and a lot of apologies to which I replied ‘that’s not going to pay the credit card bill, is it Elizabeth’.
“Now some time has passed, it’s definitely something we look back on as a family and can joke about – she’s a lovely girl and I know she’s learned her lesson.”
