Death Stranding Director’s Cut will officially release on Steam and Epic this spring

Death Stranding got a great PC port in 2020, so it was disappointing to see the updated version of Director’s Cut launched exclusively on PlayStation 5 last year. A number of leaks this week have suggested that a PC port for new content is only a matter of time, and publisher 505 Games has now confirmed the Director’s Cut is coming to home computers.

New Steam List because the Director’s Cut is entirely separate from the original game, so it’s not just downloadable content. It is not clear if there will be an upgrade path for owners of the original version on PC, however. 505 says more info is coming “end of january”. On PlayStation 5, owners of the original Death Stranding were able to upgrade to the Director’s Cut for $ 10 / € 10.

The game will launch simultaneously on Steam and the Epic Games Store this spring. It will include all of the PC-centric improvements that the original version of Death Stranding boasted, like high frame rate and ultra-wide monitor support, and will include XeSS scaling technology from Intel.

If you’re looking for more old PlayStation exclusives to play on PC, God of War is coming to Steam later this month.
