Dubai employee gets life in prison for killing his boss who rejected his leave request

According to a Dubai Police officer, the victim was found by his employees in a pool of blood and the accused was the last person seen with him.

“Garage workers claimed they left the garage for 20 minutes and returned to see the dead victim. They suspected the accused because he was the last person seen with the accused and subsequently disappeared,” the police officer said on file.

The defendant traveled to Dubai International Airport to leave the country, but no flight was available to where he wanted to go.

He went to the consulate on the second day, asking for help to leave the country, without informing them of what he had done. According to official records, Dubai police arrested him outside the consulate.

“The accused argued with the victim because he wanted to return to his country, but the victim did not agree with him on the return date. The victim then dismissed him and asked him to leave the premises. The accused was ashamed and became angry,” the policeman added.

During interrogation, the accused claimed to have waited for his colleagues to leave the workplace, locked the door and took a knife to attack the victim. He slit the victim’s throat, but he was still breathing, so the accused took a hammer and smashed his face.

A 62-year-old worker testified that he went with his work colleague to a nearby supermarket and found the body of the manager on his return, when the accused had disappeared.

The verdict will be subject to appeal within 15 days.
