Respawn expands classified division of Emergence, says Apex connection issues could persist until September 22
The Apex Legends The community recently united behind a single rallying cry and Respawn Entertainment appears to be answering the call.
After several prominent voices in the community asked the developer to extend the Season 1 Ranked Division in response to a week of server instability, Respawn today said it is pushing back the Ranked Division end date. of a full week. But the developer also claimed that the very issues that prevented players from connecting to the servers could persist until September 22.
“Despite today’s improvements, we are still seeing around three times the normal rate of disconnection errors in [Apex], and a full return to normal may take until our next patch scheduled for September 22, ”the developer tweeted. “We will be extending the current leaderboard distribution by one week – this update will go live on Monday. “
The Ranked Division was originally scheduled to end on September 21, but that date will now be pushed back to September 28, the same day the Evolution event is scheduled to end. With this expansion, players will have an additional week to complete their Division Ranked climbs. Division Two will begin thereafter with a return to Kings Canyon.
After the Game Evolution event kicked off on September 14, a large number of players started reporting connection issues. Many remained unable to log into the main lobby, while others were excluded from their games, resulting in AFK penalties or loss of ranked points.
Respawn informed players yesterday that it will “speed up [its] server capacity ”and had fixes scheduled for today to resolve some of the issues. But the developer said in the same announcement that many of these fixes will go into effect over the weekend. Now, however, Respawn has stated that a “full return to normal” may not happen until the next developer patch scheduled for September 22.
Following yesterday’s announcement, several prolific streamers and pro players, including LuluLuvely, NiceWig, and Rogue — asked Respawn to extend the deadline for Ranked Division One to give players a chance to make up for lost time and depleted Ranked Points due to these connectivity issues. Mountain peak content creators and pros have remained vocal on their platforms since the launch of battle royale in 2019. In June of this year, a number of prominent voices from the scene banded together behind the hashtag #SaveApexRanked for Respawn to play. a greater role in deterring cheating and heartbreak in the game.
At the end of the Emergence season, players will receive rewards based on their highest ranked allocation. If they reach Diamond level in the First Division but only reach Platinum in the Second Division, for example, they will receive Diamond rewards by the end of the season.
Players will have until September 28 to complete their ascent to the Premier League of the season. The ranked two division will then start shortly thereafter.
