Bookmobile at Alliance Farmers’ Market – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 2. In addition to providing its usual 34-foot traveling library service, the RPL Bookmobile will offer take-home craft projects while supplies last for children. For the weekly bookmobile schedule, visit

Spirit knit – 10 a.m. Monday. A Circle for Seamstresses of all types and skill levels meets the second and fourth Mondays of each month at the Main Library. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 107.

Playgroup – 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Recommended for children from birth to 5 years old, Play Group takes place every Tuesday and gives parents and caregivers and their infants and toddlers the opportunity to socialize with others. Board books and toys will be available for children, and coffee and tea will be offered for adults. A librarian will be present at all times, but a parent or caregiver must be present with their child. No registration necessary. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 223.

Anime for teens – 3 p.m. Tuesday. Ages 12-18 are invited to the Rodman Public Library on select Tuesdays. Teenagers can choose their favorite episodes to stream on RPL’s big screen. Story time at the branch – 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Kids 3 and up can explore a different aquatic creature each week as part of RPL’s Oceans of Possibilities summer reading program. Identical sessions will take place each week. The 45 minute sessions include songs, stories and a different activity each week. Each story hour ends with a short video highlighting the sea creature of the day. Children are encouraged to bring a beach towel to sit on. Book Festival – 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Aimed at children of all ages, Book Fest is half an hour of fun. On June 30, Raptor Hallow Sanctuary will present “Birds! Birds! Birds!” The program introduces young learners to the world of birds and what makes them special. Visitors will also be able to interact with tactile objects such as feathers and eggs. Games for teenagers – 3 p.m. Thursday. 12 to 18 year olds are invited to the Rodman Public Library every other Thursday to play their favorite video games on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Playstation 3 and 4, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo WiiU. Teenagers can play a different game each week. Games with ratings ranging from “E” for everyone, up to “T” for Teen level will be offered. No registration is required for these free play events. Book clubs

RPL Evening Book Club – 6 p.m. Monday. The RPL Evening Book Club meets on the fourth Monday of each month in the Main Library. June’s selection is “Ordinary Grace”, by William Kent Kruger. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 107.

The real crime junkies – 6:30 p.m., July 19. The True Crime Junkies, a book discussion group led by reference librarian Ashley Mock, meets the third Tuesday of the month at the Main Library. The selection is “Black Dahlia, Red Rose: The Crime, Corruption, and Cover-Up of America’s Greatest Unsolved Murder,” by Piu Marie Eatwell. Children’s book club – 4:15 p.m., July 20. RPL invites 8 to 12 year olds to join the Kids Book Club, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month. “The Terrible Two”, by Mac Barnett and Jory John is the title selected for July. Led by Stacy Digianantonio, the meetings include a brief book discussion, a fun activity, and a snack.
