The Cowabunga Collection Brings 13 Classic Games to PC This Year

It really feels like 2022 has become the year of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, especially after today’s announcement. During the first PlayStation Game StatusKonami pulled off a quick one by revealing something that didn’t immediately piss people off. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection is an anthology of 13 classic Turtles games, and it’s coming to PC later this year.

It’s an impressive set. I’m sure there’s an argument to be made that not all of these games are the best, but there are quite a few heavy hitters in the bunch. TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection includes games from the NES as well as Game Boy systems. Yes, that means you can relive the pain of playing through the fucking level of Teenage Mutant Turtles for the NES (and that stupid jump). However, the collection also covers arcade games, Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo.

TMNT IV: Turtles in Time is a no-brainer, but there are unexpected inclusions. The Cowabunga Collection also includes The Hyperstone Heistwhich was like a modified version of turtles in time for Genesis. It also includes the SNES and Genesis versions of Tournament fightersso now you and your friends can compete to play the right version or not.
