The Tokyo Game Show 2022 will be a physical event
The Tokyo Game Show will be a physical event this year.
Trade body Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA) said the show will return between September 15 and 18 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba for consumers and professionals.
The theme for this year’s TGS is “Nothing Stops Gaming”
“During these two years, various funny events have disappeared from our daily lives, but games have still brightened our days,” explained CESA. “The games will continue to brighten everyone’s day now and forever – this year’s theme involves such determination.”
In a statement explaining the theme of the show – via Gematsu – CESA said: “We had to give up doing one fun thing after another over these two years. How many times have we thought, what happened to our days?
“Even then, we still had games that kept us going. Exciting twists, captivating and passionate experience lit up our daily life. Games became our hope.
“2022 is the year to show the true spirit of games. The Tokyo Game Show is on a mission to create our hope and beyond. Update our possibilities. Unprecedented excitement always arises from something you don’t have never imagined.
“Let’s open the door to the forefront of games. Give courage and enthusiasm to everyone. Show your love of games to each other.
“For everyone to share the ‘great feeling of living in those times.’ Let’s dive deep into the craze for the game.”
This is the first time the Tokyo Game Show has taken place in real life since 2019. The 2020 edition was canceled due to – what else? – the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
