Geelong have won the top spot in the 2022 AFL Grand Final.

After beating Brisbane in Friday night’s preliminary round at the MCG, the Cats will face the winner of Saturday’s preliminary match Sydney against Collingwood at the SCG for the flag.

WHAT TIME DOES THE GRAND FINAL START?

The 2022 AFL Grand Final begins at 2.30pm AEST on Saturday September 24, returning to its traditional timeslot after two night games played in Brisbane and Perth respectively.

This is the first Grand Final back at the MCG Melbourne since 2019.

Victoria has a four-day weekend thanks to two public holidays leading up to the Grand Finals weekend.

All of Australia has a public holiday on Thursday September 22 for a national day of mourning for the death of Queen Elizabeth II, while Victoria has a public holiday for the Grand Final on Friday September 23.

Pre-match entertainment is expected to begin between 1-1:30 p.m. AEST, with details to be confirmed.

HOW CAN I WATCH THE AFL GRAND FINAL?

The 2022 AFL Grand Final will be streamed live on Seven and 7Plus (select platforms only and only up to 720p HD), and you can stream it on Kayo after the match.

The Grand Final can only be streamed on 7Plus TVs on Telstra TV, Samsung Tizen (2016 and later), Fetch TV, Apple TV, PlayStation 4 & 5, Android TV/Google TV and LG TV.

You can’t Chromecast or AirPlay 7Plus coverage of the AFL Grand Final.

Otherwise, to watch it live on TV, you’ll need free channels, or even a simple antenna plugged into your TV’s coaxial input.

WHO PLAYS IN THE GRAND FINAL?

Geelong Cats will face Sydney Swans or Collingwood Magpies in the 2022 AFL Grand Final on Saturday September 24 at 2.30pm AEST.

The Cats are trying to win their first AFL premiership since 2011, having lost the 2020 Grand Final since then.

If the Swans are successful, they will be looking to win their first flag since 2012, having lost the 2014 and 2016 Grand Finals since then.

If the Magpies are successful, they will be looking to win their first flag since 2010, having lost the 2011 and 2018 Grand Finals since then.

WHEN WILL THE GRAND FINAL END?

The 2022 AFL Grand Final will end around 5:00 p.m. AEST, with full details to be confirmed.

CAN I GET AFL GRAND FINAL TICKETS?

Club members were encouraged to enter their team ballots to register for Grand Finals tickets.

More details will be confirmed, including whether a public on-sale will take place for Grand Finals tickets in the coming days.

WHO PRESENTS THE PREMIERSHIP CUP?

Details are yet to be confirmed, with top clubs from both participating teams to be selected to present the cup to the winning coach and captain.

For example, last year Melbourne champion Garry Lyon presented the cup to the Demons.

WHO IS THE 2022 AFL GRAND FINAL ENTERTAINMENT?

British pop great Robbie Williams will perform ahead of the AFL Grand Final as pre-match entertainment.

Iconic Australian rock band Goanna, known for their hit song Solid Rock, will join First Nations artists Christine Anu, Emma Donovan, Tasman Keith and William Barton for the halftime show.

Other performers include G Flip, Mike Brady, The Temper Trap with Budjerah and Ngaiire, and Katie Noonan.
