Upbit to drop official Olympic Heritage licensed NFT digital pins on its Luniverse “Green NFT” channel
Seoul, South Korea, August 6, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Lambda256, the blockchain arm of fintech firm Dunamu that operates the Upbit cryptocurrency exchange, today announced that it has partnered with nWay to launch a release of the official Olympic Heritage NFT digital pins, licensed from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at nWay, on its Luniverse side channel.
Start Tuesday August 10e To 6:00 p.m. KST (5:00 a.m.ET/ 3:00 a.m. PST), the 2021 airdrops of the Olympic Heritage NFT digital pins will be available at Upbit.com on the occasion of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The pins will be a digital souvenir of the art and design of the past Olympic Games, with posters, emblems, pictograms and mascots from its 125-year history. Upbit plans to roll out additional Olympic NFT digital pins to its market in the coming months in partnership with nWay, who developed the pins under a licensing agreement with the IOC. Although the collection and exchange of pins has been a centuries-old tradition at the Olympic Games from the first Games of 1896 to Athens, this marks a new story for fans as it is the first to be offered digitally. NFT digital pins will reflect the collectable and tradeable nature of its physical counterparts, but with features unique to NFTs that verify digital authenticity and provenance.
